TRAPPED BY EXISTENCE

2020

Trapped by Existence is a concept based on the idea of feeling trapped in everyday life. Discomfort is a feeling we all experience in one way or another throughout life. Exploiting this feeling for the purpose of creating something visually compelling is something I find quite interesting. Throughout my concept I want to question the notion of being trapped in everyday commitments and obligations. Being trapped is often a fear for people. So why are we allowing ourselves to be tied down and trapped by the expectations imposed on us. My vision for this photoshoot was to use rope to tie fabric around a model posed in uncomfortable positions distorting the natural shape of the model.  Through my styling I hope to question why people allow themselves to be trapped by the expectations of everyday life.
